These Terms of Service govern the use of the JANES Sentinel service (the "Service") provided by Janes Zsolt egyéni vállalkozó (the "Provider"). By registering you accept these terms.
1. The Service
JANES Sentinel performs functional monitoring of websites and web applications: a real browser regularly walks through the configured flows (such as cart, checkout, login and forms), HTTP checks run, and on failure an incident is opened and notifications are sent. The client portal shows the status of the monitored functions, availability and the incident history.
The Service is a monitoring and alerting tool: it does not fix failures and does not guarantee that the monitored websites work.
2. Registration and approval
- You can register as a client on the website. You must provide accurate data and confirm your email address.
- The Provider approves or rejects the registration. Monitoring starts after approval, once the checks are set up.
- Keep your sign-in details confidential; you are responsible for actions taken with your account. We recommend enabling two-factor authentication.
3. Client obligations
- Only request monitoring of websites you own or are authorised to check.
- Provide a dedicated test user for browser flows where needed. Flows never complete real payments: checkout checks stop before the payment is finalised.
- Make sure the monitoring traffic (by default one check every few minutes) does not disturb your website or conflict with your hosting provider's terms.
- Do not use the Service for unlawful purposes or to load or attack third-party systems.
4. Fees
Fees and billing are set out in an individual agreement between the parties. Registration is free of charge and creates no payment obligation before approval.
5. Availability
The Provider aims to keep the Service running continuously and monitors its own operation externally. Maintenance, network failures or force majeure may interrupt the Service temporarily; checks and notifications may then be delayed or missed.
6. Liability
The Provider is not liable for damages resulting from failures or outages of the monitored websites, or from missed or delayed notifications, except for breaches committed intentionally or with gross negligence, or causing harm to life, physical integrity or health. To the extent permitted by law, the Provider's liability is limited to the fees paid for the contractual period concerned.
7. Data protection and confidentiality
The processing of personal data is described in the privacy policy. Test credentials and data learned during monitoring are treated as confidential, stored encrypted and used only to provide the Service.
8. Termination
- The client may terminate the contract at any time with the notice period agreed between the parties, and can delete the account in the profile settings.
- The Provider may suspend or terminate access with immediate effect if the client seriously breaches these terms.
- On termination monitoring stops, and the related data is deleted within the periods set out in the privacy policy.
9. Changes
The Provider may change these terms. We notify you of material changes by email at least 15 days before they take effect. Continuing to use the Service after a change means you accept it.
10. Governing law
The contract is governed by Hungarian law, in particular Act V of 2013 on the Civil Code. The parties will first try to settle disputes amicably.
